RAWE Programme for Agriculture Students of Jaipur National University

ICAR- Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan, Almora, completed the Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE) programme for students from Jaipur National University, Jaipur, Rajasthan from 30th June to 20th October 2023, imparting agricultural education and practical experience to the B.Sc. (agriculture) students of 7th semester.

RAWE, an initiative by the ICAR-VPKAS, aimed to expose young B.Sc. (agriculture) students to the realities of hill agriculture, research and extension activities. The students were introduced to various facets of agriculture.

Dr. Lakshmi Kant, Director, ICAR-VPKAS, expressed his appreciation for the student's commitment and hard work during the programme. He emphasised the significance of RAWE in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, thereby nurturing a new generation of agriculturists and agri-professionals. During the closing ceremony, Dr. Lakshmi Kant congratulated the students awarded certificates for their dedication and encouraged them to continue their pursuit of excellence in agriculture.

The students from Jaipur National University not only learned essential agricultural skills but also contributed to the institute’s activity by participating in Kisan mela, symposium, field operations etc. They actively engaged in community outreach and disseminating knowledge on best agricultural practices.

ICAR-VPKAS extends its gratitude to Jaipur National University for collaborating on this initiative and is committed to promoting similar educational programs that enhance practical knowledge and sustainable agricultural practices.

A total of 16 students from Jaipur National University, embarked on a training programme for four months to gain first-hand experience in hill agricultural practices, understand rural agricultural systems, and contribute to sustainable agricultural development.
