Shri Sanjay Garg interacts with ARS Probationers at ICAR-NAARM

Shri Sanjay Garg, Additional Secretary (DARE) and Secretary (ICAR) visited the ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad, and interacted with scientist probationers 112th Foundation Course for Agricultural Research Service (FOCARS) today.

Shri Garg briefed about the latest reforms which have been implemented such as online posting, e-HRMS etc. While emphasizing the importance of Agricultural Research, he urged the scientist probationers to focus their research career on three things: Changing National Priorities, the needs of the Farmers, and orienting towards Global Trends. Shri Garg exhorted probationers to work towards Smart Agriculture as it is the need of the hour.

While answering the questions of FOCARS probationers, Shri Garg said that ICAR is thriving to become a lean and agile organization. He mentioned that, unlike administrative services, ARS scientists are expected to focus their work towards organizational goals and encouraged them to collaborate and utilize the facilities available with other scientific organizations so that resources can be better utilized. Shri Garg urged them to become assets to their institutions.

Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM appraised about the Foundation Course and new innovations brought in for the 112th FOCARS.
