‘Training on fodder production, conservation and utilization’ for veterinarians and agricultural officers of Tamil Nadu

ICAR-Indian Grassland and Fodder Research Institute, Jhansi, implementing the National Initiatives on Accelerating Fodder Technology Adoption (NIAFTA), under which, the institute has developed a fodder plan for 28 states of the country.

 ‘Training on fodder production, conservation and utilization’ for veterinarians and agricultural officers of Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu government has started a programme to improve the skills of agricultural officers and veterinarians. In this regard, 'Training on Fodder Production, Conservation and Utilisation' for 60 veterinarians and agricultural officers of Tamil Nadu, sponsored by the Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Government of Tamil Nadu, has been organised by ICAR-IGFRI, Jhansi in three batches during 11-15 Sep., 18-22 Sep. and 09-13 Oct. 2023.

Dr. Amaresh Chandra, Director, ICAR-IGFRI, Jhansi, inaugurated the programme.

The objectives of the training were to expose the participants to the current techniques/methodologies in appropriate disciplines by distinguished scientists taking them to the experimental fields along with lectures on the topic.

The training program has covered all the important aspects of fodder production, conservation and utilization for improved livestock production to provide technical knowledge and practical experience for different fodder production systems and mechanization.
