3rd - 12th January 2024, Bikaner
ICAR-National Research Centre on Camel, Bikaner, organised a 10-day short course entitled "Recent Developments in Livestock Phenome Data Recording, Analysis and Interpretation in the Era of Genomics" from 3rd to 12th January 2024.
The Chief Guest of the concluding session, Dr. P.K. Rout, Principal Scientist, Office of Secretary DARE and DG, ICAR, was present during the concluding ceremony on 12th January 2024. He emphasised the need for novel phenotypes recording and utilization in animal breeding programs.
Dr. T.K. Bhattachraya, Director, ICAR-NRC on Equines, Hisar, inaugurated the training programme on 3rd January 2024. Dr. A. Sahoo, Director, ICAR-NRCC and Patron-cum-Coordinator of the programme was present during the event.
The training focused on animal breeding data recording, analysis, and interpretation methods, covering aspects of phenome and genome data for livestock production, disease, biomarkers, and climatic stress.
A total of 26 participants from eight states (Assam, Punjab, Rajasthan, Telangana, Tamilnadu, Gujarat, Uttrakhand & UP) attended the training programme.
