A Two-day Mid-term Review Workshop of Krishi Vigyan Kendras was organised

A Two-day Mid-term Review workshop of 25 KVKs under South Western Semi Arid and Central Plain Zones of Uttar Pradesh has been inaugurated at ICAR- Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone-III, Kanpur. On the first day of the workshop, Heads of 12 KVKs presented their action plans of their Krishi Vigyan Kendra for 2024.

Dr. R.K. Yadav, Director, Extension, CSAUAT, Kanpur informed about the vision and work of KVKs and also urged KVKs to work on water management, weed management, fertilizer management problems etc.

Dr. O.P. Singh, former Director, Extension, SVPUAT, Meerut gave an address on this occasion. He has also stressed upon all the scientists to think and work together. Dr. Singh urged KVKs to work by taking the farmers along with and keeping in mind farmers' problems, so that the farmers can get real results.

Earlier, Dr. S.K. Singh, Principal Scientist (AE), ICAR-ATARI Kanpur & Former Director, ICAR-ATARI, Jodhpur, Rajasthan welcomed all the Heads & Scientists and briefly explained the purpose of the workshop. The Action plan is the main focus of the workshop and the work done by the KVKs till now is also being reviewed. He also emphasised that there is a special need to develop and implement On-farm trials considering the problems of farmers in all KVKs. Each KVK should select and demonstrate the technology keeping in mind the problem of the selected villages.

12 Krishi Vigyan Kendras presented the Action Plan 2024 during a technical session, which the resource persons reviewed and gave their comments and suggestions. On this workshop, UC/AUC, Budget status, Expenditure, PFMS, Agri-drone, opening of separate bank accounts for project and financial position for each project, Rabi demonstrations under Crop Residue Management Project, NICRA Project, NARI Project, Natural Farming Project etc. topics were discussed in detail.
