The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra inaugurate Farmers’ Fair at Kolhapur

A seven-day Farmers’ fair (20th – 26th February 2023) on Natural farming, Animal exhibition, Farm machinery, and Desi seeds organized by ICAR-Shri Siddhagiri Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kaneri, Kolhapur was inaugurated today.

Shri. Eknath Shinde, Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Shri. Devendra Fadanvis Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra inaugurated the fair.

Shri. Bhaiyya Ji Joshi (RSS), Chairman NGT Shri. A.K.Goel, Chairman, NCST Shri. Harsh Chavan; Guardian Minister Kolhapur Shri Deepak Kesarkar; Minister Government of Maharashtra Shri Chandrakant Patil; Member of Parliament Shri Amol Kolhe, Member of Parliment Chikodi Shri Annasaheb Jolle; Member of Parliament Shri. Sanjay Mandlik; Member of Parliament Shri Dhairyashil Mane; Member of Parliament Shri. Dhanjay Mahadik; MLA Shri. Ruturaj Patil; Shri Dinesh Kulkarni (Bhartiya Kisan Sangh) graced the occasion.

Shri. Shinde mentioned the major highlights of the Exhibition. He stressed increasing the adoption rate of natural farming among farmers. He accentuated enhancing areas under natural farming in Maharashtra up to 25 lakh hectares.

Shri. Fadanvis emphasized on balancing of five elements in the present scenario and also stressed on conservation of the Desi cow.

Shri Bhaiyya Joshi said Traditional + Technology= Sustainable Development for self-reliant villages and emphasized the education policy.

The animal exhibition was inaugurated by Shri A. K. Goyal, Chairman, National Green Tribunal, Government of India. He also visited the animal exhibition of diverse animals such as indigenous cows, buffalo, bulls, horses, donkeys, cats, and dogs.

P.P. Adrushya Kadsiddheshwar Swami, Chairman, ICAR-Shri Siddhagiri KVK urged the farmers to adopt indigenous cow-based farming. He also stressed farmers to be equipped with modern-day technologies and sustainable development of farming in India.

A gallery on Panchmahabhoot was also inaugurated by the dignitaries.

More than 2.4 lakhs people visited the exhibition on 20th February, 2023.
