Award Ceremony for “Student Winners of Science Competition from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry” organized

The ICAR-National Research Centre for Banana, Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu and Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan jointly organized the Award Ceremony for “Student Winners of Science Competition from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry” here today.

Delivering the inaugural address, Dr. P. Sabanayaham, Tamil Nadu State Secretary, Vijnanabharati emphasized on the importance of the Exposure Visits for the school students to the Research Institutes like NRC on Banana that offers a long-lasting impression in their minds about the significance and efforts taken by the Government of India for the research and development in the country.

Prof. J. Jeyakanthan, Head, Department of Bioinformatics, Alagappa University, Karaikudi delivered the thematic address.

Dr. (Mrs.) S. Uma, Director, ICAR-NRC for Banana, Tiruchirapalli underlined the various research and development activities of the Centre. She also stressed on the significance of science as a career opportunity for the young students.
