Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat inaugurates Administrative Building of KVK Jodhpur-II

Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare inaugurated the Administrative Building of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jodhpur - II (Phalodi) today.

Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat applauded the commendable work being done by the KVK for benefiting the farming community for achieving the self-sufficiency in pulses and oilseeds production under the National Food Security Mission (NFSM). The Minister urged the farmers for fully utilizing the KVK facilities in order to tap the use of potential of technologies to increase the productivity and production by reducing cultivation cost.

He underlined the prevalence of major gap in term of technologies developed and their adoption. Shri Shekhawat opined that pacing the dissemination of technologies to the farmers can help in reducing the gap. The Minister urged the farmers for using the Soil testing facilities and ensuring the use of balanced fertilizers as per the soil analysis based on Soil Health Cards. Shri Shekhawat also urged the farmers to get benefited by the recently launched "Kisan Samman Nidhi" Scheme.

Dr. Balraj Singh, Vice Chancellor, Agriculture University, Jodhpur discussed about the establishment of facility of Soil testing laboratory, leaf tissue analysis and many other demonstration units in the near future.

Dr. S.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone - II briefed about the progress made by the KVKs of Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi. He mentioned about the implementation of the cluster FLDs by all the KVKs of three states under the NFSM project.

Dr. Ishwar Singh, Director (Extension), Agriculture University, Jodhpur said that KVKs’ progress comes under the Agriculture University, Jodhpur’s jurisdiction.

Shri Pabba Ram Bishnoi, MLA, Phalodi (Jodhpur); Smt. Pushpa Sisodiya, SDM, Phalodi; Dr. B.K. Divedi, Deputy Director, Agriculture and other dignitaries also marked their presence during the occasion.

A total of 250 farmers from 5 blocks and 15 villages along with various officials of state departments, private organization and NGOs registered their participation during the occasion.
