The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) will organize a Tree Plantation Campaign through Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) across the country on 17 September 2019 under the aegis of Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.
Around 714 Krishi Vigyan Kendras will plant a total of 7 lacs trees across the country. This will be the first and one of its kind initiatives by the KVKs.

The farmers will be provided with saplings for plantation by each KVK.
The KVKs will organize Krishak Gosthi for creating awareness among a large number of farmers during the occasion. Lectures on role of tree plantation in environment, soil health and water conservation and strategies for increasing production and productivity of Rabi crops will be delivered by the various experts from ICAR Institutes/SAUs/ KVKs.
The latest technologies will be demonstrated to the farmers and they will be briefed about the various services offered by the KVKs.
