Annual Review-cum-Action Plan Workshop of NICRA for Zone-VII

Shri Vincent H. Pala, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Shillong, Meghalaya lauded ICAR for implementation of NICRA program in the Northeast region through KVKs to combat climatic vulnerabilities in agriculture. He was the Chief Guest for the Annual Review-cum-Action Plan Workshop of NICRA program for Krishi Vigyan Kendras (Zone-VII) at the ICAR Research Complex for Northeastern Hill Region, Umiam, Meghalaya today.

Dr. SK Chaudhari, Deputy Director General (Natural Resource Management), ICAR presided over the program. Earlier, he visited the climate change research facilities, farms, and laboratories along with the dignitaries.

Dr. V. K. Mishra, Director, ICAR Research Complex for NEH, Umiam, Dr. A.K. Mohanty, Director, ATARI-VI, Umaim, Dr. V. K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad and Dr. B Venkateswarlu, NICRA Review Committee Chairman and Former VC, VNMKV, Parbani gave their inputs for the climate change research and demonstration of resilient technologies in the NEH region.

Dr. M. Prabhakar, PI-NICRA, ICAR-CRIDA, Dr TV Prasad, Co-PI, NICRA, CRIDA, Hyderabad, Dr Burhan Chaoudhury, PI- NICRA, ICAR-NEH Umiam and his team, including scientists from six regional centers. Several, farmers from different NICRA villages participated in the review program.
