22nd – 24th September 2022, Ranchi
ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun in collaboration with Indian Association of Soil and Water Conservationists, Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi and ICAR-MGFRI, Motihari organised a National conference on Landscape Management for Preventing Flood and Reservoir Sedimentation (LMPFRS - 2022) at BAU Ranchi from 22-24 September, 2022.
During inaugural session of the conference, Hon'ble Governor of Jharkhand, Shri Ramesh Bais appreciated the efforts for organizing the conference at right time and right place. He briefed about the enormity of devasting natural calamities to the natural resources and human life.

Dr. Onkar Nath Singh, Vice-chancellor, BAU spoke on biodiversity, environmental pollution and climate change. He said all these are matters of great concern, in respect of management of agro-ecosystem.
Dr A. K. Sikka, former DDG (NRM), expressed his concerns on soil and land degradation issues of the eastern region of India.
Dr. Manish Ranjan, Secretary, DoRD, Govt. of Jharkhand, congratulated the organizers for having organized this conference in the State of Jharkhand.
Earlier, President of Indian Association of Soil and Water Conservationists (IASWC), Dr P. R. Ojasvi, in his welcome address, urged to share their thoughts and innovative ideas to combat land degradation challenges on this occasion.
Dr M. Madhu, Director, ICAR-IISWC, Dehradun graced the inaugural function as Guest of honour.
Dr D. K. Shahi, local organizing secretary proposed formal vote of thanks.
The main objective of this conference is to prepare recommendations to tackle the land degradation, sedimentation and flood problems particularly in eastern region of India.
