Shri. C. Lalrinsanga, Minister for Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Resources, Cooperation, Government of Mizoram along with officials from Department of Agriculture Government of Mizoram visited ICAR – National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources, Bengaluru today.


The team visited the National Insect Museum at ICAR- NBAIR and appreciated the collection of insects being maintained meticulously. They also visited Bioagents Mass Production Unit of ICAR NBAIR.

Shri. Lalrinsanga called for greater collaboration between the Department of Agriculture, Govt. of Mizoram and ICAR-NBAIR in setting up biocontrol units to cater to the needs of Mizoram farmers in crop protection. He lauded the efforts of ICAR-NBAIR in training the officials from Mizoram in mass production of bioagents and suggested the team of scientists visit to Mizoram and provide suggestion to strengthen the mass production unit. He appreciated the pheromone formulations developed by ICAR-NBAIR to manage Fall armyworm and informed that the technology was widely popularized in Mizoram to benefit the farmers.
