ICAR-National Research Centre on Camel, Bikaner under the aegis of the National Environmental Science Academy (NESA), New Delhi, along with various Institutions organized National Conference on “Ozone Layer, Its Depletion and Impact on Living Beings” during 16 - 17 September 2022.

The Chief Guest of the inaugural function, Dr. Ambarish Sharan Vidyarthi, Vice Chancellor, Bikaner Technical University, spoke about the availability of water on the earth, indiscriminate use of chemicals, and importance of ultraviolet rays.
Special Guest of the program, Dr. N. Khare, Advisor/Scientist (G), Ministry of Earth Sciences, New Delhi, said that on the event of International Ozone Day, every person needs to understand their responsibilities since current global warming and climate change due to the depletion of the ozone layer and all of us need to be careful. While giving the welcome address,
Dr. Artabandhu Sahoo, Director, ICAR-NRCC and Convener said that the main objective of the Conference is to discuss and develop ways and means to reduce climate change, create awareness about ozone layer, environmental pollution and its impact on living and human health.
In his keynote address during the inaugural session, Dr. B. Venkateswarlu elaborated upon role of ozone layer for plants, animals and human beings.
Various lead papers along with poster and oral were delivered by the subject experts on environmental science, agriculture and livestock during the technical sessions and round Round-Table Discussion and plenary session.
On this occasion, an exhibition of technologies was also organised. Different ICAR Institutes, Agriculture Universities and private stakeholders participated in this exhibition to enhance awareness and adoption of their technologies.
A compendium on the conference was also released.
The Chief Guest of the plenary session, Prof. Jeet Singh Sandhu, Vice Chancellor, Shri Karan Narendra Agriculture University, Jobner said that deep scientific thinking on ozone layer depletion and its effects is the need of the hour. He said that findings and suggestions received during the brainstorming of the Conference, will definitely prove helpful in preventing the depletion of ozone layer and bringing awareness to it among the general public.
More than 160 participants/researchers from different states from all over the country joined conference in hybrid mode.
