ICAR has published ‘Case Studies – Women and Agriculture: Shaping the Future Together’, which was released by Hon’ble President of India during the inaugural session of the Global Conference on Women in Agri-Food Systems (GCWAS-2026), held from March 12-14, 2026, at NASC, New Delhi. The publication showcases the inspiring journeys of women farmers and agri-entrepreneurs who are transforming agriculture through innovation, technology, and enterprise. The case studies illustrate how women overcome challenges, adopt sustainable practices, develop enterprises and strengthen livelihoods, providing practical examples of their contributions to agriculture and rural development. The publication aims to inspire, inform and promote wider recognition of women’s leadership and potential in agriculture, while highlighting the importance of knowledge, technology, institutional support and market access in advancing inclusive and gender-responsive agri-food systems.
