ICAR-Indian Institute of Rapeseed-Mustard Research, Bharatpur, and M/s Delta Agrigenetics Pvt Ltd., Telangana, a prominent seed company, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the non-exclusive licensing for commercialization for seed production and wider distribution of improved high-yielding Indian mustard variety BPM-1825. This is a major step toward strengthening the commercialization and wider distribution of improved rapeseed-mustard technologies.
The MoA was signed by Dr Vijay Veer Singh, Director, ICAR-IIRMR, Bharatpur, and Shri Sanjay Tangri, CEO M/s Delta Agrigenetics Pvt Ltd, on behalf of their respective organizations.
Speaking to the audience, Dr Vijay Veer Singh emphasized the significance of using efficient public-private partnerships (PPP) and technology commercialization methods to transfer promising innovations and enhanced mustard varities from research labs to farmers' fields. He underlined that increasing the accessibility and uptake of high-yielding enhanced varieties created by ICAR-IIRMR can help boost output and fortify the rapeseed–mustard production system.
M/s. Delta Agrigenetics Pvt. Ltd, committed to undertaking ethical production, quality assurance and responsible distribution of seed to ensure that quality seed reaches farmers in a timely and reliable manner.
For the benefit of farmers and the edible oil industry, the partnership represents a significant step in fortifying the relationship between research, industry, and farmers and converting ICAR-IIRMR's scientific advances into field-level effects.
