ICAR-IVRI distributes milk and value-added products on “World Milk Day”

The four-day long “World Milk Day” organized at the ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh amidst the lockdown situation due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 concluded on a successful note today.ivri-010620.jpg

During the valedictory ceremony of the celebrations, Dr. R.K. Singh Director & Vice-Chancellor, ICAR-IVRI, Izatnagar, Bareilly distributed the milk packets and other value-added milk products to around 115 contractual workers working in the Institute.

The inaugural session of the celebrations marked the distribution of milk packets and other value-added products to the needy and poor people in the slums and households of the weaker sections of the state seeing the contingency of the situation caused by the outbreak of COVID-19.

The slogan titled “Drink Milk-Be healthy” was raised during the celebrations to create an awareness about the milk’s importance as a complete food.

A total of 600 litres of milk from ICAR-IVRI Dairy Farm along with butter milk mainly was distributed to women and children including the orphanages, rehabilitation centres, leprosy ashrams and slums, etc., through doorstep initiative. The Institute also distributed milk and other products to the Corona Warriors - Uttar Pradesh Police.
