The Annual Review Meeting of the “All India Network Project on Antimicrobial Resistance (AINP-AMR) in Fisheries and Livestock” under INFAAR was held at the NASC Complex, New Delhi, on August 20–21, 2025.
The inaugural session of the review meeting was chaired by Dr. Mangi Lal Jat, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR), in the presence of Dr. J. K. Jena, Deputy Director General (Fisheries Science); Dr. Raghvendra Bhatta, Deputy Director General (Animal Science) and Dr. Kajal Chakraborty, Director, ICAR-NBFGR, Lucknow.

Dr. Jat commended the project as a successful model of collaboration between animal and fisheries sciences, stressing the need for effective data utilization to advance both sectors. He further suggested for evaluating AMR profile between commercial and integrated farming systems.
Dr. Jena highlighted on the inception of INFAAR and acknowledged the intellectual support of FAO in this multidisciplinary programme.
Dr. Bhatta emphasized the importance of generating robust data on AMR across various food production systems.
Mr. Takayuki Hagiwara, FAO Representative in India graced as the guest of honour and congratulated the partners and reaffirmed FAO’s continued support for the INFAAR initiative.

Dr. Chakraborty provided an overview of the project's strengths and opportunities.
The event was attended by officers from the Animal Science and Fisheries Divisions of ICAR, representatives from FAO India, and Principal Investigators and Co-Principal Investigators of the network project of 31 partners.
In the two-day meeting the AMR data generated by network partners during 2024-25 have been reviewed and discussed.
