Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) Dr. M.L. Jat inspired the probationers of 114th Foundation Course for Agricultural Research Service (FOCARS) at their valedictory programme towards their bright career at ICAR-NAARM on October 16, 2025.
Dr. Jat in his address urged the probationers to prioritize research areas and conceptualize research projects that will attract funding from various donors. He suggested them to align their research to satisfy the needs of Viksit Bharat 2047. He urged the young minds to identify their weaknesses and take necessary efforts strengthen such areas.
Dr. Jat also emphasized the young probationers to take challenges in their professional career to address the needs of the stakeholders. Further, he suggested ICAR-NAARM to organize Field Experience Training (FET) for FoCARS at aspirational districts and the districts identified for Prime Minister’s Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana. During the programme, he also distributed certificates to all trainees, felicitated best trainees and released publications brought out by the Academy.
The valedictory programmed marked the completion 114th foundation course at the Academy, which hosted 105 probationers representing 41 disciplines and 21 states.

Dr. R Venkattakumar and Dr. Umesh Hudedamani, Course Directors of 114th FOCARS organized the entire three-month programme in three phases.
