Dr M. L. Jat, Secretary, DARE & Director General, ICAR, and Dr Rajbir Singh, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension) ICAR, visited ICAR-Indian Institute of Maize Research, Ludhiana.
During the visit, Dr Jat interacted with the scientists, technical and administrative staff of the institute and reviewed the ongoing research, extension and institutional activities.
The dignitaries also visited various research laboratories and upcoming facilities at the institute. They reviewed the progress of infrastructure development and discussed the planned facilities, their effective utilization, and their role in strengthening maize research, technology development and farmer-oriented extension activities.
The visit provided an opportunity for meaningful interaction and valuable guidance for further strengthening the institute’s research, innovation, infrastructure and extension programmes, with a focus on enhancing maize productivity and supporting the farming community and other stakeholders.
