ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad Organises Awareness Campaign on Balanced Use of Fertilizers in Telangana

ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad organized an awareness campaign on the balanced use of fertilizers at Motiganapur village in Balanagar Mandal of Mahboobnagar district, Telangana, under the MGMG initiative.

During the programme, scientists interacted with farmers and created awareness on Integrated Nutrient Management (INM), natural farming practices, composting, vermicomposting, and green manuring techniques aimed at promoting sustainable soil health and improved crop productivity.

As part of the campaign, educational wall posters on Integrated Nutrient Management and Phosphate Solubilizing Bacteria (PSB) treatments were displayed at the Gram Panchayat office for farmers’ reference. Soil testing brochures were also distributed among the farming community to encourage scientific nutrient management practices.

A live demonstration on the treatment of farmyard manure (FYM) with PSB was conducted to familiarize farmers with effective and eco-friendly nutrient management approaches.

The programme witnessed active participation of farmers and farm women from the village, reflecting growing interest in sustainable agricultural practices and balanced fertilizer use.
