As part of the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) programme, being organized from 17 September to 2 October 2026 under the theme “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag; Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat”, various cleanliness and Swachhta-related activities are being conducted to promote awareness and encourage public participation.
As part of this campaign, the ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun organized a “Swachhata Se Samriddhi” campaign on 28th September 2026 at Tumati Thanda, an SCSP-adopted village in Sandur Taluka of Ballari district.
The programme focused on the message “Say No to Plastic-Use Only Cloth/Jute Bags for an Eco-friendly Environment.” Farmers and villagers were sensitized and encouraged to avoid single-use plastic bags and adopt reusable, eco-friendly alternatives to reduce plastic pollution and maintain a clean and healthy village environment.
As part of the programme, vegetable kits for kitchen gardens were distributed to farmers to promote nutritional security and encourage household-level vegetable production. The programme also included Swachhata Shramdaan and village cleaning activities with active participation from farmers and local residents.
The activities highlighted the “Waste to Wealth” concept and emphasized the importance of reducing plastic use and promoting cloth and jute bags for a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment.
A total of 35 participants actively participated in the programme and contributed to the cleanliness and awareness activities.
