The 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) was released by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, today through a nationwide live webcast. During the programme, the Prime Minister transferred ₹18,640 crore to about 9.32 crore farmer families through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, providing ₹2,000 to each eligible farmer as part of the scheme’s income support of ₹6,000 per year in three equal installments.
To facilitate wider outreach and participation, institutes of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) across the country organized live webcasting of the programme at their respective campuses, where scientists, farmers, students, extension personnel, and other stakeholders gathered to witness the event and the Prime Minister’s address.
ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad
Staff members of ICAR–National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, along with 100 farmers from Telangana, witnessed the live webcast of the release of the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, today. During the programme, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of supporting farmers in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Earlier, Dr Gopal Lal, Director, ICAR-NAARM, interacted with the participating farmers and encouraged them to adopt digital agriculture and natural farming practices for sustainable agriculture. He also distributed medicinal plants to the farmers.
Farmers from Ranga Reddy district also attended special sessions on digital agriculture and organic farming conducted by ICAR-NAARM scientists prior to the webcast.
ICAR–Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur
ICAR–Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur, organized a live webcast of the national programme for the release of the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) today. Scientists, beneficiary farmers, staff, students, and other stakeholders participated and witnessed the national event.
The national programme, held at the Jyoti-Bishnu International Cultural Centre, saw the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, release the installment by transferring over ₹18,640 crore to more than 9.32 crore farmers through the Direct Benefit Transfer mechanism. With this installment, the cumulative transfer under PM-KISAN has exceeded ₹4.09 lakh crore.

The webcast programme at ICAR–DWR witnessed 229 participants, including 127 men and 87 women.
ICAR–National Research Centre on Mithun, Medziphema
ICAR–National Research Centre on Mithun, Medziphema, organized a programme to witness the release of the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), with 52 farmers (47 women and 5 men) participating. Farmers were briefed about the installment and the benefits of the scheme.

During the programme, pig feed was distributed to 50 farmers to support livestock-based livelihoods in the presence of Dr Girish Patil S., Director, ICAR-NRC on Mithun. An interactive session was also held where farmers shared challenges in livestock farming, which were discussed and addressed by scientists and officials.
ICAR–Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Namsai
ICAR–Krishi Vigyan Kendra Namsai, in collaboration with the District Agriculture Office, Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh, organized a live streaming programme of the release of the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) at the DC’s Conference Hall, Namsai, with 100 farmers participating.

The programme was graced by Nang Kalyani Namchoom, ADC Namsai, who encouraged farmers to take advantage of government schemes. Dr. Utpal Barua, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK Namsai, explained the programme, while Nang Rupa Mannao, DAO Namsai, briefed farmers on the PM-KISAN scheme and its benefits. Farmers appreciated the initiative, noting that the 22nd installment benefited about 9.32 crore farmers nationwide.
ICAR–National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources, Bengaluru
ICAR–National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources organized a virtual event to witness the release of the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), with over 260 farmers participating. The programme was graced by G. K. Venkatashiva Reddy, MLA (Srinivasapura Constituency), in the presence of S. N. Sushil, Director, ICAR–NBAIR.
Dr Sushil highlighted the institute’s role in developing biological control technologies for eco-friendly pest management, while the Chief Guest emphasized the significance of PM-KISAN in supporting farmers’ income.
As part of the programme, biocontrol inputs were distributed to farmers from Kolar and Tumkur districts under DAPSC & ST, and an exhibition on biocontrol-compatible pest management technologies was organized for the benefit of participating farmers.
ICAR–Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad
ICAR–Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad, organized a live viewing programme of the release of the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) today. The webcast was attended by ICAR-CRIDA staff and farmers from the CRIDA Model Village, Gaddamallaiahguda, and was also screened at KVKs and AICRPDA and AICRPAM centres of ICAR-CRIDA.

In total, about 570 participants across CRIDA, its KVK, and AICRPDA/AICRPAM centres viewed the telecast, effectively conveying the Prime Minister’s message and reinforcing awareness about government initiatives supporting farmers.
ICAR–Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi
ICAR–Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, organized a live telecast of the nationwide release of the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) for farmers. The programme brought together farmers, scientists, and officials to witness the event and highlight key agricultural initiatives.

Prior to the webcast, farmers were taken on a guided visit to the research fields and advanced agricultural farms of ICAR-IARI, where they observed improved crop varieties, modern farm machinery, and innovative agricultural technologies. The programme enhanced farmers’ exposure to scientific advancements and strengthened the link between agricultural research and field-level application.
