Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched three major initiatives the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana, the Pulses Atmanirbharta Mission, and the National Mission on Natural Farming in New Delhi. He also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for over 1,100 agricultural projects, with a total allocation of ₹42,000 crore aimed at strengthening the agriculture sector, particularly in 100 identified aspirational districts.
These initiatives are designed to enhance productivity, improve infrastructure, and promote sustainable and natural farming practices, contributing to the overall resilience and modernization of Indian agriculture.
In his address, the Prime Minister highlighted the transformative achievements in the agricultural sector over the past 11 years, reaffirming the government’s commitment to farmers’ welfare and rural prosperity.
The event was graced by Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh, and Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shri Bhagirath Choudhary, along with Hon’ble Governors, Chief Ministers, State Agriculture Ministers, senior ICAR officials, scientists, Krishi Vigyan Kendra representatives, and lakhs of farmers who participated both physically and virtually from across the country.
ICAR-Central Research Institute for Jute and Allied Fibres, Barrackpore
ICAR–Central Research Institute for Jute and Allied Fibres, Barrackpore, organized the live telecast of the Prime Minister’s launch of innovative convergence projects.
Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, Union Minister of State for Education and Development of the North Eastern Region, graced the event as Chief Guest, which saw enthusiastic participation from around 470 farmers and farm women.

Dr. Gouranga Kar, Director, ICAR-CRIJAF, highlighted the institute’s role in skill development and economic empowerment of farm women, emphasizing ongoing efforts to enhance livelihoods through technological interventions.
Farmers and farm women from North 24-Parganas and Nadia districts of West Bengal attentively viewed the Prime Minister’s live address, making it a moment of inspiration for the farming community.
ICAR-Indian Institute of Water Management, Bhubaneswar
ICAR–Indian Institute of Water Management, Bhubaneswar, organized a Farmers’ Awareness Programme on various agriculture and allied sector schemes, along with an exposure visit and live streaming of the launch of the ‘Pradhan Mantri Dhana Dhanya Krishi Yojana’ and ‘Mission for Atmanirbharata in Pulses’ by the Prime Minister.
Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, Minister of Housing & Urban Development and Public Enterprises, Government of Odisha, attended as Chief Guest. He highlighted key initiatives of the Central and State Governments, the importance of PM-DDKY and the Pulses Mission for Odisha, and urged farmers to adopt efficient resource and water management and natural farming for sustainable agriculture. He also distributed pulse and vegetable seeds to farmers.

Over 325 farmers and stakeholders attended the event and viewed the Prime Minister’s live address.
Dr. Arjamadutta Sarangi, Director, ICAR-IIWM, outlined the institute’s water management technologies and urged farmers to adopt and disseminate these innovations for wider benefit.
ICAR–Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur
As part of this national event, the ICAR–Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur organized a local gathering with 303 participants, including farmers from nearby villages, scientists, and staff members of the Directorate.

Among the participants were 104 women and three Sarpanches. On this occasion, scientists delivered brief lectures on Natural Farming, the Pulses Mission, and Weed Management in Field Crops, highlighting ICAR’s contributions toward sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture.
ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering and Technology, Kolkata
The Guest of Honor, Shri Govind Mazumder, Secretary, Gobardanga Seva Samity, spoke about various central government schemes launched by Govt of India. He also elaborated upon the linkage between ICAR-NINFET & Ichamoti FPC towards the upliftment of farming community.
Dr D. B. Shakyawar, ICAR-NINFET addressed the farmers and spoke about the initiatives launched by the Prime Minister. He also highlighted upon the various research activities taken up by the institute related to natural farming, accelerated retting and diversified value-added products from jute & other natural fibres.

During this august event, inputs like jute nonwoven bags, leaflets on various technologies were distributed among participating farmers.
Two latest instruments developed at the institute viz. Bundle strength tester & Colour meter were supplied to Ichamoti FPC for benefit of farmers. The instruments were demonstrated to farmers too.
About 100 farmers participated in the programme.
ICAR-Directorate of Floricultural Research, Pune
ICAR–Directorate of Floricultural Research, Pune, organized a special event to commemorate the Prime Minister’s launch of the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana and the Pulses Mission. The programme also featured a Training-cum-Awareness Session on the Cultivation of Rabi Flower Crops, aimed at promoting skill development among farmers.
A total of 153 participants, including farmers, students, and young entrepreneurs, attended the event and interacted with ICAR-DFR scientists. They also viewed the Prime Minister’s live address, which outlined the objectives and benefits of the newly launched agricultural schemes.
The programme included a field visit to tuberose, rose, and annual flower crop fields, providing participants with practical exposure to scientific cultivation practices.
The event concluded with Dr K. V. Prasad, Director, ICAR-DFR, delivering the closing remarks and encouraging farmers to take part in future training programmes organized by the institute.
ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai
ICAR–Central Institute of Fisheries Education, under the leadership of Dr. N. P. Sahu, Director, organized a special event to commemorate the launch of the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana, National Mission on Pulses, and other related schemes, with a live telecast from NASC Complex, New Delhi.
Shri Nitesh Narayan Rane, Minister of Fisheries and Ports Development, Government of Maharashtra, graced the event as Chief Guest and lauded ICAR-CIFE’s contributions to fisheries research, education, and extension. He reaffirmed the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision to modernize and strengthen the fisheries sector and emphasized improving fishers’ income and livelihood security.

Dr. N. P. Sahu highlighted ICAR-CIFE’s role in advancing fisheries development and stressed the need for convergence among departments to ensure effective implementation of government schemes.
Technical lectures in Marathi were conducted to spread awareness on PM-DDKY, the Pulses Mission, and natural farming, focusing on productivity enhancement, digital literacy, and women’s empowerment.
ICAR–National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow
The Chief Guest, Prof. Dinesh Sharma, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and former Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, praised Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for driving transformative initiatives in agriculture and allied sectors. He stated that the PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana and Dalhan Aatmanirbharta Mission would boost productivity, income diversification, and national food security. Prof. Sharma also lauded ICAR and ICAR-NBFGR for their role in scientific innovation, aquatic biodiversity conservation, and farmer-oriented technology outreach, emphasizing that blending modern science with traditional wisdom is key to achieving a self-reliant and prosperous rural India.

On the occasion, Prof. Sharma planted a sapling at the NBFGR campus, symbolizing commitment to “Green Growth and Sustainable Agriculture.” He highlighted that the event underscored the nation’s dedication to innovative, inclusive, and sustainable development in agriculture and fisheries, embodying the spirit of ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan.’
Dr. Kajal Chakraborty, Director, ICAR-NBFGR, in his welcome address spoke about the significance of the event, highlighting the Bureau’s ongoing efforts towards aquatic genetic resource conservation, technology dissemination, and farmer capacity building aligned with the vision of “Krishi Se Samriddhi”.
ICAR–Central Rice Research Institute, Cuttack
The event coincided with the birth anniversary of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan and the beginning of the Rabi sowing season, symbolizing a renewed commitment to strengthen the farming sector and achieve self-reliance in food and nutrition security.
The live streaming at ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack served as an inspiring platform for farmers to witness the government’s vision for a prosperous, sustainable, and self-reliant agricultural future.

Altogether 465 farmers and farmwomen from Scheduled Caste Sub Plan adopted villages of Cuttack and Khordha districts enthusiastically participated in the programme at MKCG Auditorium of ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack campus.
ICAR- Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Kolkata
In conjunction with the live viewing, ICAR-ATARI, Kolkata conducted a day-long awareness programme and interactive session aimed at enhancing farmers’ understanding of key government initiatives and agricultural innovations.
Dr. Pradip Dey, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Kolkata, highlighted the key initiatives to enhance farmers’ income and sustainability. He emphasized the significance of the PM-Dhana Dhanya Krishi Yojana (PM-DDKY) and the Dalhan Atmanirbharata Mission for strengthening pulse-based systems in Odisha and the eastern region, and urged farmers, farm women, and rural youth to adopt efficient resource use, water-saving technologies, and natural farming practices for achieving climate-resilient and sustainable agriculture.

The event served as an effective platform for reinforcing the vision of transforming Indian agriculture towards self-reliance and sustainability through collective awareness, technology dissemination, and farmer engagement.
The program engaged 411 farmers (143 men and 268 women), who appreciated the technical insights aimed at strengthening their role in sustainable agriculture and fostering a future driven by informed, science-based practices. Champion farmers were also felicitated during the occasion.
ICAR–Indian Institute of Millets Research, Hyderabad
Shri Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, MP, highlighted the government’s commitment to farmer empowerment and rural development, while Dr. C. Tara Satyavathi, Director, ICAR–IIMR, emphasized translating research into field applications for higher productivity and incomes.
Sessions covered natural farming, soil health, millet-based systems, and value addition, along with interactive discussions on climate-resilient varieties and integrated pest management. A live drone demonstration showcased precision farming technologies.
The event concluded with a field visit to ICAR–IIMR’s research farms, attended by over 400 farmers from Telangana and neighboring states.
ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad
Dr. V.K. Singh, Director, ICAR–CRIDA, briefed the participants on the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana and the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses. He highlighted that PM-DDKY aims to enhance productivity, promote crop diversification, and strengthen irrigation and storage infrastructure. The scheme, covering 100 agri-districts, will benefit 1.7 crore farmers, creating new opportunities in rural areas.

Following this, ICAR–CRIDA scientists conducted sessions on the Rabi season crop plan, water management, pulse mission, and natural farming, to raise awareness among participants.
Total 1229 participants attended in both online and offline mode.
ICAR-Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute, New Delhi
All the scientists of ICAR-IASRI, along with the administrative staff, participated in the programme and witnessed the live telecast of the Prime Minister’s address. The event also featured a discussion on division-wise major products, advanced farming techniques, government schemes, and crop management practices.

On this occasion, a brainstorming session on "Omics Research in Oilseeds and Pulses for Atmanirbhar Bharat" was also organized in the institute with participation from more than 50 researchers.
ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ramgarh
ICAR-KVK Ramgarh organized a farmer mela inaugurated by Shri Nirmal Mahato, MLA, Mandu, along with Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh, Former VC, BAU Sabour, and Dr. Anup Das, Director, ICAR RCER, Patna.
Shri Mahato appreciated KVK Ramgarh’s role in transforming farmers’ lives and bridging the gap between modern technology and grassroots needs. Dr. Singh highlighted the institute’s efforts in empowering small farmers, while Dr. Das emphasized integrated farming, climate-resilient agriculture, and local innovations for holistic rural growth.
Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-IARI, and Dr. Ravindra Padaria, Joint Director (Extension), ICAR-IARI, addressed the gathering virtually, stressing technology dissemination and climate-smart agriculture.

The event featured release of two extension booklets, distribution of farm tools to tribal farmers, and over 25 exhibition stalls showcasing innovations from agriculture, allied sectors, startups, and progressive farmers. Around 1,000 participants, including women self-help groups and youth, attended. Over 90% of participants were women, highlighting KVK Ramgarh’s efforts in women empowerment and sustainable agricultural development.
