Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released the 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi from Coimbatore today, marking a major nationwide outreach to farmers. As part of the programme, ₹500 crore was transferred directly into the bank accounts of 25 lakh farmers in Chhattisgarh. The participation of thousands of farmers and rural representatives highlighted the significance of the occasion, positioning it as an important milestone in the State’s development journey. ICAR institutes across the country also broadcast the release, ensuring extensive coverage and engagement nationwide.
ICAR–Indian Institute of Millets Research, Hyderabad
The programme began with a brief introduction on the objectives of PM-KISAN by Dr. Tara Satyavathi, Director, ICAR-IIMR followed by an orientation session for farmers on scientific millets crop production practices, millet varieties, soil health management, millet post-harvest technologies and millet value added technologies. Scientists of ICAR–IIMR interacted with farmers and highlighted the role of technological advancements, agri-based entrepreneurship, and millets value-addition in enhancing farm income.

The event successfully connected farmers with national initiatives and strengthened ICAR–IIMR’s commitment to strengthening technological outreach, promoting sustainable agriculture and supporting millet-based farming communities across the region. Farmers appreciated the timely financial support under PM-KISAN and the continued technical assistance provided by ICAR–IIMR and its FPO network.
Scientists, technical staff, administrative staff, and all employees of ICAR–IIMR actively participated in making the programme successful. This special program was successfully organized by TSP & SCSP Committee with the support of FPOs Project Team.
ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad
Shri Payal Shanker, Member of Legislative Assembly, Adilabad Assembly Constituency, Telangana, participated as a Chief Guest in the event. While felicitating the participating farmers, he spoke about the emerging problems faced by farmers and the possible solutions.

More than 300 persons witnessed the event including farmers from Siddapur, Agraharam Potlapalli, Galiguda and Mannegudem villages of Telangana.
ICAR-Indian Institute of Water Management, Bhubaneswar
Shri Ashrit Pattanayak, Member of Legislative Assembly, Pipili, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized that farmers are the true Annadata who nourish the nation. He highlighted Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s commitment to the welfare of the farming community, noting that the 21st installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi amounting to ₹18,000 crore was released today and digitally transferred to the bank accounts of 9 crore eligible farmers across the country. He encouraged farmers to adopt modern technologies in agriculture, fisheries, and animal husbandry to enhance their income.
Dr. Arjamadutta Sarangi, Director, ICAR-IIWM, informed the gathering that the institute has developed several water-saving technologies suitable for various production ecologies and urged farmers to increase productivity while conserving water. A live telecast of the Prime Minister’s address was shown to the participants.

Prior to the main programme, a Farmer–Scientist Interaction Meet was organized, with 150 progressive farmers from ten adopted villages across Cuttack, Khordha, and Puri districts actively participating. The Chief Guest also distributed agricultural inputs to the farmers. Scientists, technical personnel, staff members, and research scholars were present and contributed to the event.
ICAR-Central Research Institute of Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad
This webcast was attended by ICAR-CRIDA staff, students of IARI-Mega University Hyderabad hub, KVK, ICAR-CRIDA Staff, and farmers and also on online and effectively conveyed the Prime Minister's message to the participants.
The programme was conducted which is a significant step toward reinforcing the government's commitment to supporting farmers. The successful execution of the telecast not only disseminated vital information regarding the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi but also fostered a sense of community among farmers.

On this occasion before webcasting an introductory remarks delivered by Dr. M.Srinivas Rao, Head Division of Crop Science (DCS) and nodal officer of this programmme. He emphasized the importance of PM-KISAN in supporting the livelihoods of small and marginal farmers and reiterated ICAR’s role in promoting dryland agriculture. He also and briefed about PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana and Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses.He told that PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana scheme is aimed to enhance productivity, promote crop diversification, improve irrigation and storage.
ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi
ICAR–IARI, New Delhi, organised a Kisan Gosthi to mark the release of the 21st instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN). The event brought together farmers, scientists, officials and policymakers to discuss agricultural advancements and farmer-centric initiatives.
Dr. R. N. Padaria, Joint Director (Extension), welcomed participants and reaffirmed IARI’s commitment to strengthening farmers through research and technology dissemination.
Shri Kamlesh Paswan, Minister of State for Rural Development, highlighted government efforts to improve rural livelihoods and stressed the income-enhancing potential of Integrated Farming Systems.
Smt. Raksha Nikhil Khadse, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, urged greater adoption of integrated and organic farming, calling farmers the backbone of the nation.

Shri Harsh Malhotra, Minister of State for Corporate Affairs and Road Transport & Highways, commended ICAR-IARI’s contributions and noted the impact of DBT-based farmer support under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
At ICAR-IARI’s KVK in Shikohpur, Gurugram, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Shri Rao Inderjit Singh attended a farmers’ workshop as Chief Guest, joined by MLAs Smt. Vimla Chaudhary, Shri Mukesh Sharma and Shri Tejpal Tanwar. Over 200 farmers participated.
Technical sessions covered natural farming, improved pulses, seed production, rabi weed management, protected cultivation and integrated farming systems, with farmers actively engaging with scientists.
The Kisan Gosthi saw participation from 264 farmers, along with Ex-MLA Shri R. P. Singh, senior officials and ICAR-IARI staff.
ICAR-National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources, Bengaluru
The event was graced by Dr. K. Sudhakar, Member of Parliament (Chikkaballapura), as the Chief Guest, and Shri S. Muniswamy, former MP (Kolar), as the Guest of Honour, in the presence of Dr. T. Venkatesan, Director (I/C), ICAR–NBAIR. Dr. Venkatesan opened the programme with an overview of the Institute’s farmer-focused initiatives.
Dr. Sudhakar stated that since the launch of PM-KISAN in 2019, nearly ₹3,91,000 crore has been transferred to about 9 crore farmers nationwide. He added that ₹18,000 crore would be credited under the 21st instalment and highlighted various government schemes aimed at doubling farmers’ income. He commended ICAR–NBAIR for promoting natural farming and eco-friendly technologies and encouraged wider outreach.
Shri S. Muniswamy outlined major initiatives introduced by the Prime Minister for farmer welfare and emphasized the role of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in enhancing income and strengthening rural livelihoods.
Over 175 farmers joined the virtual launch of the 21st PM-KISAN instalment. As part of the programme, biocontrol inputs were distributed to nearly 100 farmers from Kolar district under SCSP and TSP.
Participants also visited the Butterfly Garden, Black Soldier Fly Facility, Bee Homes, and experimental fields at the ICAR–NBAIR campus. An exhibition on biocontrol-compatible pest management technologies was also organized for the farmers.
ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Odisha
At ICAR-CIFA, the live-streamed programme saw enthusiastic participation from farmers and stakeholders. A total of 187 farmers and farmwomen, along with officials and staff from the Institute and KVK Khordha, attended the event. Participants listened to the Prime Minister’s address and acknowledged the government’s continued commitment to farmer welfare and income support.
The programme concluded with interactions between farmers and officials, highlighting the significance of the PM-KISAN scheme in strengthening livelihoods and promoting inclusive agricultural development.
ICAR-Directorate of Cashew Research, Puttur
An Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) on Cashew Apple Utilisation and Value Addition was organised today under the Agri-Business Incubation (ABI) Centre of the institute. The programme focused on training Krishi Sakhis from Puttur and Kadaba taluks, who serve as key para-extension workers linking government departments with farming communities.
The training covered cashew apple processing, value addition, waste reduction and entrepreneurship development. Expert sessions highlighted product diversification, processing technologies and quality standards. Value-added products developed at the institute were showcased to build awareness and generate interest among participants. They were also briefed on the training, services and incubation support available under the ABI.

A total of 34 participants attended the programme. During the valedictory session, the Krishi Sakhis shared that the training enhanced their knowledge and encouraged them to promote cashew cultivation and explore small-scale cashew apple processing opportunities in their villages.
ICAR-National Institute of Abiotic Stress Management, Baramati
The programme commenced with welcome and registration of farmers, followed by two technical sessions to disseminate scientific knowledge and improved practices to the farming community: ‘Improved Package of Practices for Major Pulse Crops was presented and Principles’ and ‘Practices of Natural Farming, including a hands-on demonstration’. The session emphasized low-cost, sustainable farming approaches aimed at improving soil health and reducing dependence on external inputs. Farmers actively participated in the discussions and expressed appreciation for the practical guidance provided by the experts.

Dr AK Singh, I/C Director, ICAR-NIASM, highlighted the institute’s commitment to supporting farmers through research on abiotic stress management and technology dissemination. Dr NP Kurade, Chairman DAPSC Committee, briefed the beneficiaries about the DAPSC programme.
