ICAR–NAARM Participates in Post Budget Webinar

ICAR–National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad, participated in the Post Budget Webinar organized by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, at the Conference Hall of the Academy.

The webinar was inaugurated by Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, who highlighted the importance of promoting entrepreneurship based on agriculture and rural livelihood opportunities emphasized in the Union Budget. He referred to key sectors receiving policy thrust, including animal husbandry, fisheries, coconut, cashew, cocoa, sandalwood, agarwood, walnuts, almonds and pine nuts, along with initiatives such as Self-Help Entrepreneurship (SHE) Marts and Bharat Vistar, an AI-powered advisory platform for farmers. He also underscored the importance of coordinated efforts in processing, value addition and export of agricultural produce.

In the valedictory session, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Rural Development, emphasized the need to enhance production and productivity in agriculture and allied sectors, while also strengthening processing, value addition and export opportunities to improve the overall agricultural economy.

Dr Gopal Lal, Director, ICAR–NAARM, along with faculty members of the Academy, attended the webinar and appreciated the provisions in the Union Budget aimed at strengthening the agricultural sector and promoting rural entrepreneurship in the country.
