ICAR-NBAIM, Mau Organizes Farmer Awareness Programme under Khet Bachao Abhiyan 2026 in Mau, Uttar Pradesh

As part of the ongoing Khet Bachao Abhiyan 2026, ICAR–National Bureau of Agriculturally Important Microorganisms, Mau organized a farmer awareness and outreach programme at Lohatiket village of Pardaha block in Mau district, Uttar Pradesh.

During the programme, scientists from ICAR-NBAIM interacted extensively with the farming community and provided technical guidance on sustainable agricultural practices, soil health management, integrated nutrient management, beneficial agricultural microorganisms, and eco-friendly crop protection strategies. The scientists also addressed farmers’ queries related to crop productivity enhancement, soil testing, and the effective utilization of bioformulations for sustainable agriculture.

The programme aimed to enhance awareness among farmers regarding climate-resilient and environmentally sustainable farming practices while encouraging the adoption of microbial technologies for improving crop health, soil fertility, and overall farm productivity. The enthusiastic participation and active interaction of the farmers reflected their growing interest in scientific and sustainable agricultural approaches.

To further promote sustainable farming practices, ICAR-NBAIM bioformulations were distributed among the participating farmers to support soil health improvement, enhance nutrient-use efficiency, and reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers.

The programme witnessed the active participation of 66 farmers, including 47 men and 19 women farmers.
