Kisan Gosthi was organised on the ‘Balanced Use of Fertilizers by ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad today for Sustainable Crop Production under the Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav programme. The initiative was conducted as part of the Intensive Campaign on Balanced Use of Fertilizers launched by ICAR, New Delhi. A team of scientists visited Kethireddypalli Village, Balanagar Mandal, Mahboobnagar District, Telanagana.

Emphasis was laid on the importance of judicious application of fertilisers to sustain yields and improve soil health and the aspects of Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) in agriculture were also highlighted.
This was followed by a field demonstration on the use of Phosphorus Solubilizing Bacteria (PSB) to improve the availability of phosphorus in the soil.

A total of 20 farmers participated in the awareness programme.
