ICAR–National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources, Bengaluru, launched Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 today by administering the Integrity Pledge and reaffirming their commitment to transparency and ethical conduct.
Dr. S.N. Sushil, Director, ICAR–NBAIR expressed satisfaction that the institute has consistently maintained a clean record with no pending vigilance cases and continues to uphold strong ethical and transparent administrative practices. He appreciated the insightful talk by the guest speaker and urged all staff to continue fostering a culture of integrity, responsibility, and collective vigilance in every sphere of work.

Following the pledge, a guest lecture was delivered by Shri Ramesha G, IRS, Chief Vigilance Officer, Karnataka Antibiotics & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
The officials emphasized that the true spirit of vigilance lies not merely in observing a week-long programme but in practicing honesty and integrity in day-to-day activities. He elaborated on the concepts of preventive and punitive vigilance, highlighting the importance of awareness, timely reporting, and mechanisms such as the PIDPI (Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informers) to strengthen collective vigilance.
The event witnessed active participation from all sections of the institute including Scientific, Technical, Administrative, Supporting Staff, Students, and Project Fellows.
A week-long vigilance awareness campaign is being scheduled by ICAR-NBAIR, featuring both in-house and community outreach activities.
