Under the Intensive Awareness Campaign on Balanced Use of Fertilisers coordinated by ICAR–Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone X, Hyderabad, extensive awareness and extension activities were conducted today across eight districts of Andhra Pradesh involving 8 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs). A total of 8 awareness programmes covering 351 farmers were organized, along with 4 training programmes benefiting 218 farmers. In addition, 2 interface meetings involving 3 participants were conducted. KVK scientists disseminated technical advisories and messages to 5,620 farmers through WhatsApp outreach platforms.
The campaign achieved a substantial digital outreach of 2,13,853 farmers through WhatsApp, Facebook, X, and other social media platforms, while 710 farmers were covered through direct physical contact and field-level interactions. Demonstrations on green manuring (16), biofertilizer use (2), and other balanced nutrient management practices (5) were also conducted to promote sustainable fertiliser use and soil health management. Overall, the campaign generated extensive outreach and strengthened farmer awareness on balanced fertiliser application and scientific nutrient management practices across the participating districts under ICAR–ATARI Zone X, Hyderabad.

Under the Intensive Awareness Campaign on Balanced Use of Fertilisers coordinated by ICAR–Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), Zone X, Hyderabad, extensive awareness and extension activities were conducted on 20.05.2026 across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry involving 72 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs). The campaign focused on promoting balanced fertiliser application, scientific nutrient management, soil health improvement, and sustainable agricultural practices through field-level extension interventions.
A total of 29 awareness programmes covering 1,083 farmers were organized, along with 10 training programmes benefiting 460 farmers. In addition, 3 interface meetings involving 5 participants and one additional stakeholder interaction were conducted. KVK scientists disseminated technical messages and advisories to 26,436 farmers through WhatsApp outreach platforms. The campaign achieved a substantial digital outreach of 2,78,925 farmers through WhatsApp, Facebook, X, and other social media platforms, while 1,939 farmers were covered through direct physical contact and field-level interactions. Demonstrations on green manuring (25), biofertilizer use (15), and other balanced nutrient management practices (13) were also conducted to promote sustainable fertiliser use and soil health management. Overall, the campaign generated a cumulative outreach of 2,80,864 farmer contacts through both physical and digital modes across the participating states under ICAR–ATARI Zone X, Hyderabad.
