Under the Intensive Campaign on Balanced Use of Fertilisers coordinated by ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Hyderabad awareness and extension activities were conducted today across 8 districts of Andhra Pradesh involving 7 participating KVKs. The campaign promoted scientific nutrient management, balanced fertiliser application, soil health improvement, and sustainable fertiliser use through field-level extension interventions.
A total of 428 farmers were covered through awareness programmes, while 6 training programmes benefited 254 farmers and stakeholder interactions involved 53 participants. KVK scientists delivered 1,554 technical advisories and extension talks through various outreach platforms. The campaign achieved a digital outreach of 41,595 farmers through WhatsApp, Facebook, X, and other media platforms, while 900 farmers were reached through direct physical contact and interactions.

Demonstrations and extension support activities were also undertaken to promote balanced fertiliser use and sustainable nutrient management practices. Overall, the campaign generated a cumulative outreach of 42,495 farmer contacts across the participating districts of Andhra Pradesh.
Under the Intensive Campaign on Balanced Use of Fertilisers coordinated by ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, extensive awareness and extension activities were conducted on 14 May 2026 across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry involving all 72 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) under ATARI Zone X.
The campaign promoted balanced fertiliser application, soil test-based nutrient management, integrated nutrient management, green manuring, and efficient fertiliser use among farmers.
During the day, 34 awareness programmes covering 1,236 farmers, 2 Kisan Gosthi/Field Day programmes involving 15 farmers, and 12 training programmes benefiting 488 farmers were organized, while interface meetings and stakeholder interactions involved 88 participants. KVK scientists delivered 27,388 technical advisories and extension talks through multiple communication channels.

The campaign achieved a digital outreach of 99,971 farmers through WhatsApp, Facebook, X, radio, and other media platforms, while 2,248 farmers were contacted directly through interpersonal extension activities. Overall, 1,02,219 farmers were reached through physical contact and extension interventions across the four states.
Demonstrations on green manuring and biofertilizer application were also conducted to promote sustainable nutrient management practices, significantly strengthening farmers’ awareness on scientific and balanced use of fertilisers across ATARI Zone X.
