ICAR–Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ranga Reddy District, under the ICAR–Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad, organized a live telecast of the release of the 20th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The programme was held at Rythu Vedika, Yacharam, Ranga Reddy District.

The Chief Guest Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister for Coal and Mines, commended the dedication of farmers and the contributions of institutions like KVK and ICAR. He highlighted that under the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister, India is emerging as a global leader in both economic growth and agriculture. He underscored the impact of government initiatives such as PM-KISAN, Soil Health Cards, e-NAM, and promotion of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) in strengthening rural prosperity. Shri Reddy urged farmers to make full use of these schemes and remain engaged with KVKs for technical guidance.
The Guest of Honor, Shri Malreddy Ranga Reddy, Member of Legislative Assembly, Telangana, lauded the government’s continued focus on farmer welfare.
Dr. V. K. Singh, Director, ICAR–CRIDA, stressed the scheme’s importance for small and marginal farmers and reiterated ICAR’s commitment to advancing dryland agriculture.
The event marked the direct benefit transfer (DBT) of ₹20,500 crore to over 9.7 crore farmers nationwide. The PM-KISAN Scheme provides annual financial support of ₹6,000 in three equal instalments, credited directly to farmers’ Aadhaar-linked bank accounts via DBT.

The programme featured an interactive session with experts from ICAR–CRIDA, universities, and line departments, covering crop diversification, livestock management, soil and water conservation, and climate-resilient farming practices.
Over 816 participants attended, including farmers, scientists, and officials.
The event reinforced the government’s vision to transform Indian agriculture through innovation, inclusion, and investment, while fostering a sense of community among farmers.
