State-Level Workshop and VKSA Rabi Campaign Planning Meeting Held in Telangana

As part of the nationwide efforts to realize the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 through agricultural transformation, a State-level Coordination Committee Workshop of Telangana and VKSA Rabi Campaign Planning Meeting was organized at the ICAR–Indian Institute of Millets Research, Hyderabad. The workshop also served as a preparatory platform for the forthcoming Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan Rabi Campaign scheduled from October 3–18, 2025.

Dr. C. Tara Satyavathi, Director, ICAR–IIMR, emphasized the importance of greater coordination and convergence between central and state agencies to strengthen agricultural R&D and accelerate technology transfer to farmers in Telangana.

The deliberations centered on:

•Developing a Five-Year Action Plan for agricultural development in Telangana.
•Promoting convergence of programmes between ICAR, State Government, KVKs, SAUs, and allied departments.
•Identifying state-specific priorities to strengthen research, extension, and technology adoption.
•Establishing a State Coordination Committee to create synergy between central and state initiatives.
•Outlining a roadmap for farmers’ income enhancement, climate-resilient agriculture, and efficient resource utilization.

The Directors of ICAR institutes underlined the collective responsibility of institutions to contribute towards the goals of Viksit Bharat @2047 and the VKSA Rabi Campaign. The meeting concluded with a commitment to frame a state-specific roadmap for Telangana, aligning research, extension, and development priorities over the next five years, with mechanisms for periodic monitoring to ensure effective implementation.

Dr. R.K. Mathur, Director, ICAR-Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research; Dr. R.M. Sundaram, Director, ICAR - Indian Institute of Rice Research; and Dr. S.N. Meera, Director, ICAR–Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, along with representatives from PJTAU, SKLHTU, PVNRTVU, Department of Horticulture, and other line departments, were among the key representatives.

Directors and senior representatives of various ICAR institutes based in Hyderabad. Officials from State Agricultural Universities, state departments, and allied organizations also participated, with a total of 30 participants joining in both online and offline modes.
