Shri Ashutosh Tandon, Minister of Technology and Medical Education, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, inaugurated a two-day International Symposium on Aquatic Animal Health and Epidemiology for Sustainable Asian Aquaculture here today. The symposium is organized by Aquatic Biodiversity Conservation Society, Lucknow, India in collaboration with ICAR-National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow and National Surveillance Programme for Aquatic Animal.

The coastal aquaculture in Kerala is set to get a major boost, as the ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), Kochi is popularising the cage fish farming model among the farming and non-farming communities across the State. The less expensive farming model will help to increase the aquaculture production.
