Media (print, visual and digital) plays an important role in creating awareness among the public on the recent developments happening in agriculture and its associated sectors in the world. It is important that agricultural research institutions have to come together with the media for effective dissemination of their technology innovations, success stories and development initiatives to the farmers, policy makers and stakeholders.

In the backdrop of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s appeal for doubling farmer’s income by 2022, a 10-days short course training programme on “New Frontiers of biotic stress management for doubling the farmer’s income” was inaugurated at ICAR-National institute of Biotic Stress management, Raipur on 11 September, 2017. At the outset, Dr. Anil Dixit, Course Director informed the audience that the Government of India has prepared a blue print on seven point strategies to double farmer’s income by 2022.

ICAR-Central Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture, Chennai  in association with the Fisheries Technocrats Forum (FTF), Chennai conducted a Farmers Conclave cum Workshop on “Sustainable Livelihood Options in Aquaculture for Rural Population” at Nagapattinam, which is the fisheries and aquaculture hub of Tamil Nadu, on 19th August 2017.
