A training programme on improved practices for safflower cultivation was organized by the ICAR-Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research, Hyderabad, with a special focus on engaging with oilseed entrepreneurs.

During the programme, entrepreneurs interacted with participating farmers and expressed their commitment to supporting safflower cultivation through buyback arrangements, offering a 5% premium over the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for safflower seeds providing a promising market linkage for growers.
ICAR-IIOR scientists briefed the farmers on the latest technologies, including high-yielding safflower cultivars, and shared insights on mechanization across the entire crop cycle, from sowing to harvesting.

Farmers were also educated on the benefits of forming Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), the advantages of crop insurance, and the importance of value addition to enhance profitability and ensure better price realization.
The event coincided with the release of the 20th installment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi, which was celebrated by the farmers who expressed happiness and appreciation for the continued government support.
