ICAR–IIRMR, Bharatpur Signs MoA with M/s Vishal Agro Seeds for Licensing of Indian Mustard Variety NRCHB-506

ICAR–Indian Institute of Rapeseed-Mustard Research, Bharatpur, Rajasthan, signed a Memorandum of Agreement with M/s Vishal Agro Seeds, Jaipur on October 27, 2025, for the non-exclusive licensing of the Indian mustard variety NRCHB-506.

NRCHB-506, the first Indian mustard hybrid developed by the public sector, is a high-yielding and high oil content variety recommended for timely sown conditions in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. The hybrid has also demonstrated excellent performance in other mustard-growing regions of the country.

The MoA was formally signed by Dr. Vijay Veer Singh, Director, ICAR–IIRMR, Bharatpur, and Shri. Ramswaroop Jat, Managing Director, M/s Vishal Agro Seeds, Jaipur, on behalf of their respective organizations.

In his address, Dr. Singh emphasized that the commercialization of high-yielding varieties would accelerate the dissemination of improved mustard hybrids in farmers’ fields, thereby contributing significantly to India’s mission of achieving self-sufficiency in edible oilseed production.

Shri. Jat reaffirmed his organization’s commitment to collaborative efforts, assuring active participation in large-scale quality seed production and distribution to strengthen the national drive toward edible oil self-reliance.

The event was organized by the Institute Technology Management Unit, ICAR–IIRMR, Bharatpur. Officials from ICAR–IIRMR and M/s Vishal Agro Seeds were present on the occasion and witnessed the signing ceremony.
