Union Agriculture Minister visits ICAR-CPRI, Research Centre, Gwalior

Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare visited the ICAR-Central Potato Research Institute, Research Centre, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh today. During his visit, the Union Minister discussed about the Centre’s Potato Research and Seed Production Programme.

Shri Tomar stressed on the need for enhancing the production of processing varieties under Potato Seed production at the centre to provide an impetus to the campaign of doubling the farmers' income.

Dr. Anand Kumar, Deputy Director General (Horticultural Science), ICAR assured on providing the benefits to the farmers through the Centre’s advanced Seed Production Programme.

Dr. Manoj Kumar, Acting Director, ICAR-CPRI, Modipuram, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh along with Dr. Shiv Pratap Singh, Incharge, ICAR-CPRI, Research Centre, Gwalior and other senior officials and staff members of the Institute were also present during the occasion.
