Agriculture with a soul is essential for sustenance: Shri Kamlesh D. Patel, President, Sri Rama Chandra Mission & Spiritual Guide, Heartfulness Meditation

Shri Kamlesh D. Patel delivers Spiritual Lecture on “Krishi becoming Rishi”

Shri Kamlesh D. Patel, President, Sri Rama Chandra Mission & Spiritual Guide, Heartfulness Meditation (fondly known as Daaji) delivered the Spiritual Lecture on “Krishi becoming Rishi” as a part of the “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” ICAR Lecture Series organized at the ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad today.

Daaji’s Lecture is the 67th of the Massive Outreach Campaign titled “75 Lecture Series” by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi as a part of the 75th Year of India’s independence “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” Activities.

While delivering the Lecture, Daaji said food is the basic need of life, one can think of integrity of mind, body and spirit only when well-nourished. Right from the Vedic times, our Rishis have put great emphasis on agriculture. The great Sage Parashara handed down his teachings on agriculture through Krishi Parashara. Similarly, we should follow the knowledge dissemination, he added. He advised to tune the self-consciousness to higher consciousness through meditation which will result in creating great positive vibes to attain the overall well-being of the mind and body besides, greater wisdom. The happiness comes from aligning the hands, head and heart in positive direction and grows from within, he advocated.

Delivering the welcome address, Dr. R.C. Agrawal, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Education), ICAR briefed about the contributions of ICAR along with the Agricultural Universities which have made the country self-reliant in food production. The DDG also underlined about the Heartfulness.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad said that the soil conservation, natural resource management and self-peace with focused mind are the key points to be followed from Daaji’s Lecture. He thanked Daaji for gracing the occasion and delivering a Heartfulness Lecture in tune with the agriculture and practicing the meditation by audience.

The event was coordinated by Dr. G. Venkateshwarlu, Joint Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad.

Around 100 Vice-Chancellors of Agricultural Universities, Deputy Director Generals of ICAR, Directors of various ICAR Institutes, Senior Staff Members of ICAR-NAARM, Senior Professors and Faculty Members of Agricultural Universities, Teachers, Scientists and Students of ICAR-NAARM and PJTSAU, Hyderabad attended the programme.
