Dr. M. L. Jat, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR), visited the ICAR–Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Jodhpur, today. During the visit, he inaugurated an exhibition organized by KVKs and interacted with progressive and innovative farmers. Appreciating their contributions, he emphasized the importance of scientifically validating grassroots innovations.
Addressing the staff of ICAR-ATARI-II, Dr. Jat underlined the privilege of serving the farming community through the National Agricultural Research System (NARS). He reiterated that ICAR institutes, ATARIs, State Agricultural Universities (SAUs), KVKs, and farmers form one family and must work in unison to realize the vision of Viksit Krishi and Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Commending the ICAR–SAU–KVK network in Rajasthan for its outstanding performance during the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan 2025 held from 29 May to 12 June, Dr. Jat stated that the campaign provided a platform for scientists and institutions to work as One Nation One Agriculture – One Team. He urged agricultural scientists to pursue demand-driven research and to uphold the motto of bringing a smile to the face of the Annadata.
Highlighting the importance of accurate and reliable data, Dr. Jat stressed the need for robust systems in data capture and quality assurance. He assured that all issues related to KVKs are being addressed and reaffirmed ICAR’s commitment to strengthening KVKs as vibrant district-level institutions.
Dr. A. K. Nayak, Deputy Director General (Natural Resource Management), ICAR, also graced the event.
Earlier, Dr. J. P. Mishra, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Jodhpur, welcomed the dignitaries and outlined the significance of Zone-II, comprising Rajasthan, Haryana, and Delhi, in the country’s crop production systems.
