Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Secretary (DARE) and Director General, ICAR visited the ICAR-Directorate of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Research (ICAR-DMAPR), Anand, Gujarat today.
Dr. Pathak, while interacting with scientists said that the scientists should work in delivery mode. He urged the scientists to develop at least one product/service for the benefit of farmers and stakeholders of the country. He expressed his satisfaction over the research achievements of the Directorate.
He also felicitated two women entrepreneurs Smt. Sai Sudha Chebrolu, Founder, M/s. Bilvam Herbals Pvt Ltd, Anand and Smt. Nirupaben Parmar, Founder, M/s. Niarka Herbals, Vadodara who are working in the area of commercialization of value-added products from medicinal and aromatic plants and have been incubated at Medi-Hub, Technology Business Incubator of the Directorate.
Dr. Pathak also released a bulletin on “Waste to Wealth: Technologies for Value addition to Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Waste Biomass” published by the Directorate.
Earlier, Dr. Vikramaditya Pandey, Assistant Director General (Hort. Science-I), ICAR briefed about the achievements of the Directorate.
Dr. KB. Katheria, Vice Chancellor, Anand Agricultural University (AAU), Anand, Dr. M.K. Zala, Director of Research, AAU, Anand, Dr. KC. Dalal, Former Director, NRCMAP, Dr. Satyanshu Kumar, Director (Acting), ICAR-DMAPR, Dr. AK Singh, Head, ICAR-CHES, Godhra, Scientists and staff of ICAR-DMAPR were also present in the meeting.
