ICAR–IARI Honoured for Excellence in Official Language Implementation

The 12th half-yearly meeting of the Nagar Rajbhasha Karyanvayan Samiti (North Delhi) was held today at the National Agricultural Science Centre Complex, New Delhi, under the aegis of the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. Representatives from various central offices, research institutes, and universities actively participated in the meeting.

The meeting featured detailed deliberations on the promotion of Hindi, effective implementation of the Official Language Policy, and a review of the progress made in official language work.

On this occasion, the ICAR–Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, was conferred the Third Prize for its outstanding performance in the promotion and implementation of Hindi. The Committee commended ICAR-IARI’s sustained initiatives to integrate Hindi across scientific, administrative, and extension activities.

Receiving the award, Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR–IARI, stated that the efforts of our employees in using Hindi not only strengthen our cultural legacy but also enhance efficiency, transparency, and outreach. This recognition is a source of inspiration for the entire nation. We must continue to ensure that Hindi is used naturally and effectively at every level of science, research, and administration.”

The institute’s employees expressed their pride and joy at the recognition, pledging to further accelerate the use of Hindi. They also resolved to expand scientific communication in Hindi, making research outputs and innovations more accessible to farmers and the public at large.

This award has infused fresh motivation and pride among the ICAR-IARI community, reinforcing the institute’s leadership role not only in agricultural science but also in advancing India’s official language. It underscores the importance of ensuring that scientific progress is communicated in the language of the people, thereby promoting inclusivity, accessibility, and wider acceptance of innovations across the country.
