Padama Shree Saint Balbir Singh Seechwal, a noted environmentalist, ‘Time’ magazine declared him ‘Environmental Hero’, flagged-off vehicle to make awareness against burning of wheat stubbles at the premises of KVK, Nurmahal, Jalandhar.

While addressing the farmers, Saint Seechwal appreciated the role of KVK in making a movement against residue burning. He urged all the stakeholders to come on single platform and work together in convergence mode to fight this social problem. He said with the use of machines, the problem of residue can be sorted out but we have to educate the farmers.
Earlier, Dr. Rajbir Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Ludhaina lauded the efforts of KVK for inviting the real hero for the residue management. He emphasised the role of social reformers in making awareness on residue burning.
