The ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil Science organized the Central Zone Sports Tournament of ICAR, a four-day long sports extravaganza at BHEL Athletics Ground, Bhopal from 12th to 15th November - 2018.
The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. V. S. Tomar, former Vice-Chancellor of the Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Viswa Vidyalaya, Jabalpur on 12th November – 2018. Directors of the ICAR Institutes located at Bhopal were present on the occasion.
The event registered a total participation of around 15 candidates from ICAR Institutes of the Central Zone along with 500 participants (50 women players).
Dr. Navin Chandra, Director General, Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology was the Chief Guest and Dr. A. Subba Rao, former Director, ICAR-IISS was the Guest of Honour of the valedictory function held on 15th November - 2018.
The tournament organized under the chairmanship of Dr. Ashok K. Patra, Director, Indian Institute of Soil Science, Bhopal.
The ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi Team bagged the award for Best Performing Team followed by ICAR-Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering, Bhopal Team on the Second position and ICAR- Indian Institute of Soil Science, Bhopal on the third best position.
During the event, Dr. (Mrs.) Sangeeta Lenka was accolade as the best athlete (women) and Mr. Amit Ray as the best athlete (Men).
