ICAR signs Work Plan with IFDC, U.S.A.

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) signed the Work Plan with the International Fertilizer Development Centre (IFDC), U.S.A. here at Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi today.

The MoU was first signed between both the organizations in the Year - 1994. As per the Work Plan for the Year - 2020-2021, both the organizations have collaborated to work in advanced research in soil fertility and fertilizer management for food and nutritional security.

Dr. K. Alagusundaram, Deputy Director General (Engineering and Natural Resource Management), ICAR and Dr. Albin Hubscher, President & CEO, IFDC signed the Work Plan on the behalf of their respective organizations in the presence of Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR).

In his address, Dr. Mohapatra urged for capitalizing the science for the farmers’ benefits. Highlighting the potential windows available for reducing the use of chemical fertilizers by 20% by the Year - 2024, opportunities in customized fertilizers, nano-fertilizers, etc., the Director General also suggested for having strategic collaboration for bringing the global experiences for the Indian farmers’ benefits.
