Shri Radha Mohan Singh visits ICAR-CIBA, Chennai

Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Former Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare & Member of Parliament and Chairperson, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railways visited the ICAR-Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture, Chennai today.

During his interaction with the scientists, the Minister appreciated the Institute’s efforts to provide the technology support for the brackishwater aquaculture sector and work with the farmers on the partnership mode. Shri Singh opined the ICAR Institutes for engaging with the Krishi Vigyan Kendras for transferring their technologies to the farming community.

The Minister regarded the integration of crops with the livestock and fisheries as the best farming system model for the farmers and allied sectors like horticulture, animal husbandry and fisheries that offers promising scope for the future agricultural development.

Dr. K.K. Vijayan, Director, ICAR-CIBA outlined the recent research programmes of the Institute.
