The ICAR-National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources, Karnal, Haryana organized an Interface Meet on “Characterization and Documentation of Animal Genetic Resources of Chhattisgarh: A Mission towards Zero Non-Descript Population” today.

In his address, Dr. N.P. Dakshinkar, Vice-Chancellor, Dau Shri Vasudev Chandrakar Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya, Durg, Chhattisgarh emphasized on the conservation priorities to be decided for each population registered and establishment of biodiversity management committees.
Dr. V.K. Saxena, ADG (AP&B), ICAR complimented the Bureau for organizing the Interface Meet.
Dr. K.K. Dhruv, Additional Director, Department of Animal Husbandry, Government of Chhattisgarh and Dr. S.L. Uike, CEO, Chhattisgarh Livestock Development Agency highlighted the importance of native breeds in the livestock sector.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. B.P. Mishra, Director, ICAR-NBAGR, Karnal, Haryana briefed about the mission towards Zero Non-Descript AnGR of the country and its way forward.
More than 200 participants of ICAR: DSVC Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya, Durg; Department of Animal Husbandry, Government of Chhattisgarh; Krishi Vigyan Kendras and NGOs, etc., participated in the Meet.
