The ICAR-Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research, Hyderabad organized a Virtual Webinar for the benefit of Oilseeds Farmers today.
Dr. M. Sujatha, Director, ICAR-IIOR, Hyderabad highlighted the importance of Oilseeds for the two states. Apprising the participants about the alarming import bills on vegetable oils, she urged the farmers for increasing the Oilseeds area and productivity.
The main objective of the Webinar was to create the awareness among the stakeholders on cultivation of Rabi Oilseeds Crops. The farmers were apprised about the improved cultivars, production and protection technologies of castor, sunflower, safflower, sesame and Niger and were made aware on the available options for Oilseeds cultivation during Rabi season in view of the excess rainfall situation during kharif in the two states.
Around 60 participants attended the Webinar.
