The ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad virtually organized the “1st Meeting of External Advisory Panel of NAHEP” today.
Highlighting the success of the National Agricultural Higher Education Project on the different fronts and its preparedness for the new educational policy, Dr. R.C. Agrawal, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Education), ICAR & National Director, NAHEP outlined the important issues for improving the quality and relevance of agricultural education.
Dr. Glen C. Shinn, Texas A&M University, U.S.A. and Dr. David Kraybill, Ohio State University, U.S.A., External Advisory Members also virtually participated and provided the inputs for the overall strengthening of the NAHEP.
The Panel was constituted under the NAHEP for providing the ICAR / NAHEP with the knowledge, strategic thinking and innovative approaches for higher education in the long and short term higher education. The panel comprised renowned educational and agricultural experts - 6 from India, 3 from the U.S.A. and 1 from Australia.
The panel provided high-quality inputs and suggestions to take the NAHEP further for excellence, viz., asynchronous learning, enhancing the visibility of Agricultural Universities, digital platforms for education, quality of faculty competency, systemic reforms, institutionalisation of best educational practices, cooperation and collaboration, more communication in policy and management of change, etc.
