The ICAR-Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan, Almora, Uttarakhand organized the “3rd Meeting of Hill Consortium of ICAR Institutes” for the technology exchange and joint research between the hill region of ICAR Institutes today.

In his address, the Chief Guest, Dr. Arunava Pattanayak, ICAR-Indian Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology, Ranchi, Jharkhand regarded the exchange of technologies developed by the partner Institutes as a great success. Dr. Pattanayak stated that the early maturing varieties of Rice, Maize, Millets, QPM and Vegetables developed by the ICAR-VPKAS, Almora have benefitted the other Hill States also.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. Lakshmi Kant, Director, ICAR-VPKAS, Almora, Uttarakhand outlined the development and notification of 172 high yielding varieties of 17 Hill Crops. Dr. Kant regarded the development of QPM Variety - Vivek QPM 59 & White Finger Millet Variety and mechanization as a great success of the Institute.
The Senior Officials of various ICAR Institutes also attended the Meeting.
