National Conference on “Animal Breeding Strategies in the Era of Genomics and Phenomics” organized

The National Conference on “Animal Breeding Strategies in the Era of Genomics and Phenomics” was organized by the Indian Society of Animal Genetics & Breeding and ICAR-National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources, Karnal, Haryana today.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) stressed on the need to develop networking with the various All India Coordinated Research Projects and other agencies for phenomics. The Director General emphasized on doing the research on epi-genomics to understand the adaptability and other traits underlying animal productivity.

Dr. Vineet Bhasin, Secretary, ISAGB briefed about the Society’s activities.

Earlier, welcoming the dignitaries, Dr. B.P. Mishra, Director, ICAR-NBAGR, Karnal underlined the Institute’s efforts on the different aspects of management of Animal Genetic Resources of India.

Dr. T.J. Rasool, President, ISAGB along with the Senior Officials of ICAR and State Agricultural Universities were also present during the occasion.
